Entry by Digital Images or Slides:

Entries on slides must be on 35mm color slides with cardboard - not glass - mounts. Each artist may submit up to 3 works. On each slide, indicate top, print your NAME, the TITLE, and SIZE of painting, in inches, including frame. PSNF will keep the slides of accepted entries. Rejected slides will be returned to the artist. Please enclose a business size, self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Digital Entries: All digital files must be accompanied by an official entry form. You may mail all your entries on one CD. Please include a separate sheet that gives the title and dimensions of each image. Image files cannot exceed 500KB or a height or width greater than 800 pixels. The file format must be JPEG.

Each entrant will receive an exhibition catalog.


Entry Fee: For 1 to 3 slides -- $25 PSNF members, $30 non-members for 1 to 3 slides. Make check payable to PSNF. Send entry form, check for entry fee, and self-addressed, stamped envelope for slide return and notification letter to:

Eligibility: ORIGINAL pastels only. No copies, no oil pastels. If you underpaint, your entry must be predominantly soft pastel. Work previously shown in a PSNF show will not be accepted. Overall size including frame should not exceed 45x45 inches. Work must be sturdily framed under glass or plexiglas - light colored mats only. Plexiglas is recommended on all shipped paintings. All accepted paintings must be shipped for exhibition. Slide entry is a good faith obligation and should be honored.


JUDGE-JUROR: Master Painter, Ukranian artist Anatoly Dverin,PSA, OPA will conduct a five day pastel landscape workshop in conjunction with the exhibit. Dates: September 1-5, 2008. If interested in workshop details send a SASE to Linda Whitaker PO Box 5133 Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32549

  • September 1-5, 2008 - Anatoly Dverin Landscape/Portrait Workshop
  • September 5, 2008 - Opening Reception

A $30.00 check payable to Okaloosa Walton Arts Center, to pay for handling and storage must accompany all shipped paintings. Add $10.00 for each additional painting crate shipped. Call 850-581-2550 or 850-314-0665 or linwhit@earthlink.com. No phone calls to college.


Delivery of Accepted Works:
Shipped paintings must be received by the agent by August 25, 2008.
    Be sure to attach your handling fee check<-ul> (payable to Okaloosa Walton College Arts Center) to the back of the painting. Also, please enclose a shipping label for the return of your painting. All paintings shipped C.O.D. unless ortherwise arranged.

    Deliver hand carried paintings to the OWC Arts Center 100 College Blvd, Niceville Fl, on August 27-28, 2008 between hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. . Late deliveries will not be included in the exhibit.


    Return of Accepted Work: Hand delivered paintings must be picked up at the Arts Center between 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., October 10-11, 2008 . Shipped pieces will be picked up by the handling agent and returned to the artist as soon as practicable.


    Liability: All works will be handled with utmost care, however, neither the Pastel Society of North Florida, the Okaloosa Walton College, nor any member thereof, will be held resposnsble for loss or damage. Plexiglas or acrylic glazing is highly recommended. Use of glass is at entrant's risk. Permission will be assumed to reproduce work for publicity purposes only. This and all other conditions are understood and agreed to by virtue of submission of entry.


    Accepted Work:
    Accepted work will receive an exhibition label. Label must be filled out and attached to the upper right corner on back of the painting. Please fasten at the top of the label only. Paintings submitted must be identical to the accepted slide. No substitutions permitted.


    Sales:
    Sales will be encouraged. A 20% commission will be charged on all sales to help with costs of the exhibition.


    REMEMBER: Fill out entry card with complete address and slide information. Fill out the notification card leaving accepted and rejected columns blank. Include your check made out to PSNF, your slides, forms and a
      business sized, self-addressed envelope with returned postage.
